Integrity
The Dutch Open Air Museum, a safe environment for all
The Dutch Open Air Museum is committed to creating an open and safe environment in which visitors, employees, volunteers and partners feel at home. This is in keeping with the museum’s core values: inclusive, connecting, sustainable and entrepreneurial. Through our core values we express what we stand for as a museum and how we aim to deal with our internal and external stakeholders. We believe it is important that everyone feels able to report an issue if they notice anything that is wrong.
Policy on undesirable behaviour
Undesirable behaviour can also occur at our museum. Examples of such behaviour include harassment, sexual intimidation, aggression and discrimination. It is not always clear when a line has been crossed. The decisive factor is that the behaviour is experienced as coercive or undesirable by the person concerned.
We encourage everyone to report undesirable behaviour so that we can take action where necessary. The Dutch Open Air Museum strongly condemns any form of undesirable behaviour. All reports will therefore be handled carefully and confidentially.
There are a number of places where people can report undesirable behaviour:
- An employee/volunteer of the Ducth Open Air Museum can report such behaviour to his/her immediate superior, a manager at the next level up or the internal confidential advisors. The contact details and procedure can be found on our intranet Jip.
- Visitors, (former) employees/volunteers, suppliers and other stakeholders of the museum can report undesirable behaviour by sending an e-mail to the general contact point Dutch Open Air Museum Complaints.
Policy on reporting malpractice
The Dutch Open Air Museum Whistleblower Scheme is being revised in 2022 and brought into line with the EU Whistleblower Protection Directive and the draft legislation. The scheme aims to ensure that reports of (suspected) malpractice are handled carefully and that a reporting party who is in an employment relationship with the Dutch Open Air Museum and is acting in good faith is protected and is not exposed to any risk of retaliation.
