Café Tante Stien
Next to the Entrance Square you can step into Café Tante Stien and experience the old-fashioned cosiness and conviviality of a bar in Amsterdam’s Jordaan district. A street like Westerstraat, with its typical Amsterdam properties, would not be complete without one of these cosy, old-fashioned bars. Bars like this have been around for hundreds of years in Amsterdam, with the oldest ones dating back to before 1600. It is therefore not surprising that these bars are inextricably linked to Amsterdam’s culture. Our own bar, Tante Stien, can be booked for group visits of up to 40 people, amongst other things.
An authentic Amsterdam bar in Arnhem
As soon as you step inside Café Tante Stien you are struck by the impression that the regular customers have only just left. The beer and gin glasses are still on the table and the folk music rings out around the bar. This is a cosy and convivial place to celebrate your birthday, ring in the new year or enjoy Christmas drinks. Order a traditional ‘kopstootje’ – a shot of gin with a beer – and clear your throat for a karaoke party with your group.
