Brewery
In the 18th and 19th centuries almost every village and hamlet in Brabant and Limburg would have had its own brewery and therefore also its own beer. After the First World War many of these small breweries went into decline. This brewery from Ulvenhout, known as De Roskam, carried on brewing into the 1920s, before being dismantled in the 1940s and relocated to the Open Air Museum. Today the old brewery sheds light on how beer was brewed in Brabant in days gone by. In the new museum brewery we brew our own traditional museum beer.
Get together over a museum beer
Together, the nostalgic brewery from Brabant and the adjoining modern brewery provide a complete picture of the brewing process in the Netherlands. The new brewery, where every day we brew beer according to our own recipe, can also be booked for group events. The space is suitable for drinks, receptions and birthday parties for up to 60 people, for example. Combine your gathering with beer tasting or a brewery tour to make your visit complete!
