Photo studio
At the ‘Wijdemans & Frère’ photo studio you can have your picture taken in clothing and a setting dating from around 1910.
This was the time when formal photographs were in fashion. These were rather serious photos in which people tended not to smile, as back then the exposure time could last up to a minute.
Have your photo taken
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at weekends and during the school holidays groups of up to 9 people can have their photo taken. During the week you can find out how photographers worked in days gone by. You will see wooden cameras, glass negatives, old printing techniques and, of course, a dark room. On weekdays it is only possible to have your photo taken between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. (max. 5 people).
