Oil-pressing
Every day
1 horsepower
Farmers from the local area would bring their linseed and rapeseed here to be pressed. The oil mill was powered by a single horse, but the work was so tough that the horse could manage no more than two hours at a time. At the Open Air Museum the mill is powered by modern technology, so no horse is needed.
Oil production
The oil was used for roasting and frying, for lighting and for making paint. The product left over after the oil production process made an excellent animal feed.
