In the presentation at the Freia steam-powered dairy factory you can see how cheese and butter are made step by step. The sounds, movements and smells will take you back to 1879.
Welcome to Friesland’s first dairy factory. In 1879 the brand-new ‘Freia’ cheese and butter factory was revolutionary. Up to that point cheese and butter had always been produced on farms. The opening of this factory therefore signalled a major change for many farmers in the local area.
