Celebrate Intangible Heritage at FestIEval
June 20 and 21
Life, play, celebration, and death
What do gabber music, flag-waving, falafel, and barrel-tapping have in common? Maybe more than you think! During FestIEval on June 20 and 21 at the Dutch Open Air Museum, you’ll discover just how diverse intangible cultural heritage is in the Netherlands. There’s plenty to experience throughout the museum park. You don’t just watch—you can join in too! From music and dance to rituals, traditions, crafts, and food, heritage is all around us.
What is intangible cultural heritage?
Eating together, celebrating, playing games, commemorating someone. These are the small and big moments you experience and pass on. That’s what we call intangible cultural heritage (ICH).
Not something for a display case, but something that lives on. Within you and all around you. During FestIEval, you’ll discover just how rich and diverse that heritage is.
FestIEval is organized in collaboration with the Knowledge Center for Intangible Heritage.
