Exhibition: Dutch East India Company mentality
We live in a world that is all about making profits, creating demand and helping ourselves to the earth’s resources. In other words, we are following the Dutch East India Company (VOC) mentality. But what if there was a different way of doing things? What if we followed the example of the Moluccan Sasi philosophy? A mentality that revolves around living in balance and respecting the earth.
Our new exhibition Dutch East India Company mentality explores the difference between these two ways of living, through the work of Moluccan artist Dominique Latoel and in other ways.
