Exibition: Heroes on the ball

The exhibition ‘Heroes on the ball – how the Netherlands turns orange’ opened on 24 March! This exhibition gives you a chance to relive highlights from Dutch football history, starting in 1974, when what came to be known as ‘oranje-gevoel’ (‘orange feeling’) first swept over the Netherlands. Over subsequent decades this strong patriotic feeling, mainly associated with sporting events and expressed through all things orange, has developed into a real ‘orange fever’. Johan Cruijff, the most famous Dutch footballer of all time, is given pride of place within the exhibition, with a room dedicated especially to him.
