Market gardener’s cottage

This little cottage, originally built in Beemster (N.H.), was occupied by a market gardener’s labourer. It once had a wooden shed to store his gardening tools. To this day, Beemster is still an arable farming, cattle breeding and market gardening area.
Nowadays, the market gardener’s cottage, which has been at the museum since 1958, has a new purpose. During the high season it serves as the Wijdemans & Frère photography studio. Here you can pay to have your photo taken wearing clothing from around 1910 against a background from the same era. Back to overview of buildings
