Half-timbered barn
At certain times over the weekend you can enjoy a demonstration of chair caning in the barn.
Terstraten is a hamlet consisting of a number of historic farmhouses. This barn was used for storing crops and small agricultural tools. Barns like this were also used for fruit syrup production. The three doors are fitted with wooden locks, with corresponding wooden keys (these were once very common, but are now extremely rare).
Technical information
Half-timbered barn, constructed using oak on a foundation of marl blocks. The timber frame was filled in using a wattle-and-daub technique.
