Spaarstation Dingenliefde exhibitionWe all keep things – because we find an object pleasing on the eye or because it is valuable. Quite often, however, the value of an object lies in the memories that are associated with it. For some people collecting becomes a hobby and they try to collect everything connected with one particular subject. The Spaarstation Dingenliefde [Collector’s Paradise] exhibition looks at this passion for collecting. Collectors tell their personal stories about their own unique collections. The Open Air Museum is a collector too. For almost one hundred years the museum has been collecting and managing objects from everyday life. In the Spaarstation Dingenliefde exhibition you will find items from the Open Air Museum’s repositories. Attention is given to the threats to which a collection is exposed, vermin, fire or damp, for example. Back to overview of buildings |
